ABOUT THIS SPECIES

This is an arboreal Southeast Asian “gliding” tree frog with full webbing that acts like a parachute between perches. Adults are typically bright green with small dark spotting; the signature black webbing becomes more obvious as they mature. They’re most active after lights-out, spending the day tucked into foliage before moving onto glass and branches to hunt.

In the wild, R. reinwardtii is associated with humid forest and breeds by making a foam nest above water, so a planted setup with vertical space, steady humidity swings, and a usable water area suits their natural routine. They also trend cooler than many tropical tree frogs, and do best when you prioritise airflow and stable “room-temperature” conditions rather than pushing high heat.
