ABOUT THIS SPECIES

The “Ghost” bull snake is a captive-bred colour combo of Pituophis catenifer sayi, producing a softer, washed-out look with reduced dark contrast compared with a normal bull snake.

Underneath the morph, it’s still a classic prairie burrower: active, inquisitive, and built to push through loose substrate with its reinforced nose scale. In a roomy, well-ventilated setup you’ll often see natural behaviours like tunnel-making, perimeter cruising, and long periods tucked into snug hides.

They’re powerful feeders and grow steadily when kept on an appropriate schedule, so a sensible enclosure footprint and secure locks matter as much as heat and substrate depth.
